For those who are curious, here is a simple video showing what colostomy surgery looks like. In this video, we see the surgeon construct a loop colostomy using the sigmoid colon.

This video is graphic so if you are squeamish you might not want to watch. However, if you want to know what it takes to make a stoma, then this video is a good educational aid.
