Here at PwC, we’ve been hard at work figuring out how best to share our knowledge. One of the steps we’ve recently undertaken is making a significant portion of our training material openly available to the public. Completely free, and in a convenient online format at PwC Open University, this is a first-of-its-kind corporate resource to provide business executives, faculty, students and regulators around the world with access to an expansive and growing library of award-winning training courseware developed in-house. Given that PwC has ranked #1 in Training magazine’s “Training Top 125″ for three consecutive years, we think much of this material will be of immense benefit to people across a wide array of disciplines.
Our efforts in this regard come on the heels of a growing number of leading universities in the United States and around the world which are making knowledge freely available. PwC actually has a great record of collaborating with organizations throughout the country to advance education in America, including Operation Hope on their 5MK initiative and with the MIND Research Institute to advance their cutting edge match and science programs. We also support a wide-range of academic institutions with grant and scholarship programs, including the recent awarding of $500,000 in grants to Bryant University, the University of Southern California, Wake Forest University and Florida International University to promote and support the recruitment and advancement of diverse students within the accounting profession. It’s all part of our agenda for corporate responsibility and citizenry.
